Diggs Construction Explores Hartford's Historic Construction Program on Channel 95:
Diggs Construction is proud to release the first episode of "School Pride Starts Here", a series dedicated to exploring Hartford's Historic Construction Program. The first of several episodes will air on Hartford Public Access Television, Channel 95, beginning on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 8AM. Daily showings at 8AM and 8PM will continue from now through Monday, November 16, 2009.

Diggs Construction Awarded United States Army Reserve Center Project: The United States Army Corps of Engineers awarded Diggs Construction, LLC with the US Army Reserve Center project in Dodge City, Kansas. The 32,000 square foot facility will consist of two separate buildings, a 22,000 square foot reserve center space, and a 10,000 square foot maintenance space.

Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts to the community on Friday, September 25, 2009. Diggs Construction Supports Helmets to Hardhats Program: Diggs Construction, LLC partnered with the New Britain Rock Cats to show appreciation to all individuals who work in our country's unions as the Rock Cats took on the Connecticut Defenders at a double A baseball game June 27, 2009. Designated as "Organized Labor Recognition Night," over one thousand union members joined another 7000 fans to commemorate this historical occasion with record attendance. The Helmets to Hardhats Program is a national non-profit program that connects former military personnel with quality career opportunities in the construction industry. Diggs Construction Sponsors New ACE Mentoring Program in Bloomfield, CT: Hartford and Bloomfield area high school students got some real world experience in the architecture, construction and engineering fields when they participated in the after school ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut.

Two-Year Extension of The Hartford Contract: Since 2001, Diggs Construction, LLC has served as the Program Manager for Hartford’s School Construction Program. To date, Diggs has managed 13 projects, 1.5 million square feet of new construction totaling over $500 million in project costs.

Groundbreaking Ceremony at Mary M. Hooker Environmental Magnet School: The City of Hartford and Diggs Construction, LLC broke ground at the Mary M. Hooker Environmental Magnet School on April 20, 2009. This $41 million, 102,000 sf addition and renovation school facility, will be the first LEED certified school in the city. "What better day than Earth Day to break ground on an environmental magnet school" says Eddie Perez, Mayor for the City of Hartford, "and we are setting the bar high with this LEED Gold project."

New LEED APs on Our Staff: Diggs Construction, LLC celebrates a new designation for two of its staff members. Derrick Diggs and Kyma Harrison became LEED Accredited Professionals in early 2009. The LEED green building rating system is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

Sport & Medical Sciences Academy Wins 1st Place: Sport and Medical Sciences Academy (SMSA) was recently recognized by the Connecticut Building Congress, an organization founded in 1952 that consists of prominent leaders in the construction industry. Members gather each year to recognize project teams who exemplify close collaboration in various categories. This year, SMSA won first place in the category of New K-12 Construction.
